    Limitations of Apple File Synchronization  
   
The "automatic" sync/backup runs as soon as the control panel is opened and will not run at all if not opened. iMac & iBook
 

File servers must be connected before running a sync/backup - remote drives cannot be accessed automatically.

  Cannot handle larger folders or large numbers of items to sync/backup - it becomes unstable under these conditions.
  Cannot copy files with custom icons - it becomes unstable and even crashes.
